This month I have had a number of products which I have really loved. Most of these are beauty products however there are a couple of random ones thrown into the mix.
No7 Beautifully Matte Foundation
The first item I would like to talk about is The No7 Foundation. This is my absolute favourite foundation and has been for around 2 years. I used to use collection 2000 foundation, however they changed the formula at one stage meaning that even the lightest shade left my skin orange. It took a lot of searching around to finally find out that the No7 foundation was the only brand to have my exact shade, annoying eh?
I got a boots gift card for Christmas 2 years ago and decided to give it a try. What could go wrong? I feel like this was the best change I have ever made. I buy the shade Calico- this is the lightest one. The coverage is medium I would say- it covers my skin really smoothly and evenly, but also doesn’t completely cover my freckles. As for staying power- I would say this is one of the only foundations I have used which actually will stay on all day.
An extra note: less is more with this foundation as it blends really easily, meaning that it can last for around 2-3 months if you use it well! You can buy it here.
Fresh Strawberries – Village Candle
This candle is gorgeous- honestly. Usually strawberry scents are a little too sweet for me, which is a shame because I love how the fruit itself smells. I got this candle from my parents this christmas, and I can honestly say this smells EXACTLY like the real fruit! It’s super fruity and slightly tangy, I personally think this candle is great. If you want a fruity scent to fill the room within minutes then this is the perfect candle.
Carli bybel palette
If any of you watch Makeup Videos on Youtube- I HIGHLY recommend having a look at Carli Bybel’s channel. She is an incredibly talented beauty blogger and makeup artist- and a few months ago she launched her own eyeshadow palette with BH Cosmetics. Her palette is affordable and great value for money as you get 10 eye shadows plus 4 highlighter shades too. The consistency of these shadows is really creamy, and they are very pigmented. Most of the shades are shimmery apart from 4 of the shades from the top row. The colour scheme is very natural and neutral- which makes it suitable for pretty much any skin tone. I have pretty much used this palette every day since I purchased it two months ago! You can buy it here.
Benefit puff off
This is an item I received as a sample in my first Birch box back in December. I have a big problem with dark circles under my eyes so any remedy is welcome as far as I’m concerned. If you are wondering why its pink, this is most likely because red pigments can help to cover up dark patches on your skin- ever heard of using red lipstick as a concealer? It sounds really weird but it works very well- it can be particularly useful in covering bruises too. Anyway, back to the eye cream- this consistency isn’t too thick and it soaks in pretty much instantly. I will be definitely buying one after my sample runs out. You can buy it here.
New look scarf
When it comes to scarves- I’m not exaggerating when I say that I’m obsessed. Some people love shoes, some love bags, but I am definitely a scarf girl. Back in autumn I saw a gorgeous scarf in Primark: It was cream and copper checked and I fell in love with it. However, I was being good and saving money so I didn’t buy it. You know when you have certain items that you just can’t get out of your head? Well, that was me with this scarf. I don’t live near to a Primark so I had to wait another month or so before visiting again- by this time it was sold out. I was gutted.
Then, a few weeks ago I made a trip to new look and this scarf was there, on sale, for £3! I just had to buy it didn’t I? It would have been rude not to. This scarf is SO warm and comfy, I can’t even explain how much I love it! This is the first scarf I have ever bought from New Look and I would 100% recommend them.
Beauticology gingerbread- bayliss and harding
I got this for Christmas from my aunty, and I have nearly ran out of everything. The set includes a Gingerbread Glittery shower gel- very festive; a cranberry shower gel; and a vanilla frosting flavoured body lotion. All of which are stored inside this really cute red cosmetics bag. I love this set so much, I just wish it wasn’t seasonal! As for the individual products:
-
Gingerbread Glitter Shower gel -This was gone within a week because I loved it so much! The fragrance is like a mixture between gingerbread and that syrup you use to glue a gingerbread house together. It’s awesome!
-
Cranberry Shower Gel -There’s not really much to say about this other than it’s very fruity, and nearly empty.
-
Vanilla frosting Body Lotion -I usually don’t like to use fragranced lotions on my body because my skin is pretty sensitive, but I thought I would at least try this one out. It’s not too greasy and it soaks in pretty quickly, and it smells divine.
Chain bridge honey farm lip balm
This is from a small farm in Northumbria- I visited the farm whilst on holiday last year with my family. It’s pretty amazing because they have a glass panel which houses the hive of bees so you can actually see the honey being made. They then make beauty products, honey dressings etc. fresh from what the bees produce. I bought the tangerine fragranced lip balm and it’s honestly the best lip balm I have ever used. You can buy it from their website here.
No7 Primer
I know what you’re thinking- it’s green. That was exactly my reaction when I saw it in boots. The good news is it doesn’t stay green once you rub it into your skin- it’s a similar idea to the pink puff off cream- green is a pigment used to even out redness in your skin, and it really works. I would recommend this to anybody who has an issue with redness on your skin. It’s worth the money. You can buy it here.
Sudocrem
I used to spend hours searching the internet for home remedies or quick fixes for blemishes. I found a post which stated Sudocrem worked wonders, and I had a tub in the house so I gave it a try. It’s ridiculous how well this has worked for my skin. I could have a full blown spot, apply some Sudocrem before bed and the next morning it is at least half its original size. Try it, I promise you won’t be disappointed.
N Spa Skin Glow Mud Mask
I use this mask every week (when I remember), and I love it. There isn’t much to say other than this mask is awesome. My boyfriend says I look like Avatar when I put it on but who cares? My skin will be glowing afterwards so I don’t mind looking like an alien for 20 minutes or so in the name of beauty. You can buy it here.
St Ives Facial Scrub
I think I mentioned this In my skincare post- but honestly this is THE best facial scrub ever. In my opinion anyway. I had really bad breakouts when I was in my mid-teens and I pretty much tried every scrub under the sun. Until I found this one. I think I have been using this exfoliator for at least 6 years, maybe even more. It takes a lot for me to stick with one item for this long, but I honestly would never look for anything else. This is probably one of my favourite products of all time if I’m honest. You can buy it here.
That’s all of my favourite things this month!
