So, yesterday I was nominated for the Beauty Tag by the lovely Kirsty Jarvie, and if you haven’t seen her blog already, you definitely should because it’s really great!

So, Kirsty wrote 10 questions about beauty, with a few random one thrown into the mix for good measure. Here goes…

 

What is the one product you could not go without?

Yikes… that’s a difficult one! There are so many products I feel like I just can’t live without, but I suppose if I have to pick the one thing I always have on no matter what… it has to be my Maybelline Dark Circle Eraser, because let’s face it, I can’t go without my trusty concealer!

What is your favourite make up brand?

Again, this is a tough question, because I have a lot of products from a lot of different brands. I would say my Top 3 have to be No7 (for foundation and primer), BH Cosmetics (for eyeshadow) and Collection for lips- because if any of you have seen my posts before, you’ll know how much I always rave about my Collection Lip Cream in Cotton Candy 🙂

Who is your style inspiration?

I have to admit, I would class myself as an ultra- stylish person, however there are are people I really love to follow with fashion and I do sometimes buy similar items for myself. The one I follow most is probably Carli Bybel. She is a beauty and fashion blogger, as well as YouTuber, and her style is just flawless all the time. Do you watch Beauty YouTubers, if so, who is your favourite?

I love watching YouTube videos! Watching YouTube was actually one of the triggers for this little blog! I have to say that I have two favourite people to watch: Zoella ad Jaclyn Hill. I love watching both of Zoe’s channels, and I love her homeware and funny video, and just generally following her day-to-day life.

Jaclyn is my go-to Makeup YouTuber. She’s literally the sweetest, most hilarious woman and her talent for makeup is just incredible! Make sure to check these two out next time you’re on YouTube!

What is your top beauty tip?

I have a lot of tips to share, but I would say the tip that I would really put as one of the best, is to make your own Beauty Oil. The reason for this is that it saves you a lot of money and you can use it for so many different things!

For example, you can use it as a conditioning treatment for your hair, or in line with the Inversion Method for growing your hair, and you can even just rub a little onto your ends to make them shiny and soft.

You can also get an empty mascara tube and pour your oil in their, and apply it to your lashes after a shower to help your lashes grow thicker.

And you can use it as a Natural Moisturiser, what’s not to like? Anyway, I have a recipe for my own here. Check it out and see if you can make one yourself this weekend!

Why did you start blogging?

I was having a bit of a rough patch last year, my last year of Uni wasn’t going to plan and I just wasn’t feeling happy in myself and what I was doing in my life. When I failed my degree, I decided enough was enough and I moved into an apprenticeship doing Social Media Marketing. I was reading a lot of blogs and watching tonnes of YouTube videos when it occurred to me that I cold do this myself.

In January this year I started my blog on Wix and then moved to WordPress a few weeks ago, and the change in my lifestyle has just had an immense effect on my happiness. I feel like I’ve got a purpose, talking to you guys and rambling about This and That. And now I’m in this great place, connecting with amazing people and it really does feel like a big family 🙂

Do you remember the first make up item you purchased?

Well, I started wearing makeup at the age of 14 I believe, and the first ever thing I bought was a foundation from Collection 2000 which cost me £3. I must say actually, I still love the foundation itself but they changed the formula so the colour changed, and it’s just too dark for my skin now. Also, everyone in our school had this phase with the Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse, does anyone remember it? It felt great on the skin but it always rubbed off within an hour!

What was the last photo you took on your phone?

Haha, I just had a look on my Camera Roll… and aside from screenshots(which I’m not counting) the last photo I physically took myself was of a packet of Lindt Strawberries and Cream Chocolates, if you’ve seen my April Favourites you’ll understand!

What is your favourite song/artist right now?

Oh god… This is too difficult! I have to admit, and I’m sorry for those of you who love the music that’s in the charts, but I am really not into the music that’s been out this past year. I’m not a fan of pop music, or R&B and all of these popular artists at the moment… Musically I still live in 2010, I’m very behind the times!

I have a few favourite artists and bands at the moment, and they are all rock and alternative! My top 3 right now have to be 30 Seconds to Mars, Catfish and the Bottlemen, and Royal Blood.

Tell me one random fact about yourself.

I met my Boyfriend when we were in school and we were Best Friends. We’ve been together since we were 15. He’s 22 now and I’m 21, we’ve been together for 6 and a half years and we are currently looking for our own house together! Not bad going for a high school romance!
