Inspire Tag- The Blog Tag

It’s finally Friday! And after a pretty stressful week, I have decided that I will be taking part in the ‘Inspire Tag’ with The Blog Tag on Facebook. If you haven’t heard of them, check them out!

This is my first tag for the group, and I have to say I’m pretty excited! Below are 20 Questions to let you get to know me a bit better, and a quick fire round at the bottom. I would really encourage all of you to take part in this one, it’s a bit of fun and a little bit of Self-Love! Here goes…

1. What is the best advice you were ever given?

My Mum has always said to me ‘ If you’re not happy doing something, go and find something else’ And I have always tried my best to follow what I love and never stay doing something that I just have to do. If it doesn’t make me happy, I move on. Life’s too short to waste time on something you don’t love.

2. Who inspires you and why?

This might sound corny, but my Boyfriend inspires me the most out of anybody I have ever met. He wasn’t the academic type, and left our college without any A-Levels, and ended up working full time in retail for over a year. One day, he just said enough is enough, and applied for an Apprenticeship in IT (something he had no knowledge of). After his apprenticeship he got a job within a week, and is now the head of many services in his company for the whole of Europe. He has surprised everyone including himself, and I’m so so proud of him. It just shows that if you are determined enough to succeed in life, you can.

3. Everyone has bad days, how do you deal with a bad day?

Whenever I wake up in a bad mood or have a stressful time at work, I just stop and think to myself ‘You are in control’. I can control whether or not I’m in a good mood, and even if stressful things happen during my day, I just let it go and stay positive.

4. Where do you go/what do you do when you need motivation?

When I need some motivation the first thing I do is read some motivational quotes. I have a few favourites that are always great for reminding me that no matter how fed up and tired I’m feeling, the work will be worth it in the end.

5. Failure is a big part of life, what has been your biggest failure to date?

My biggest failure was not passing my final year exams for my Chemistry BSc (Hons) Degree. It was a massive blow to my plans, however I’m glad I did fail. I am in a full time job now which I’m happy with and in my belief, everything happens for a reason. I wouldn’t be talking on this blog now if I hadn’t failed.

6. What is your biggest achievement?

My Biggest Achievement?… I suppose the thing I am most happy about in my life is my relationship. What started as a high school romance at the age of 15, has turned into a lifetime of happiness and commitment to each other. We are even looking for a house together!

7. Have you conquered any fears?

Believe it or not, I’m conquering one right now! I have always been a very introverted person, but blogging these last few months have really helped me to come out of my shell and share my passion with you guys.

8. Music helps lift our mood, what is your go to song when you need a pick me up?

There are so many! I suppose it depends what kind of pick me up I need… but if I am in a down mood and I need some motivation, I would probably say ‘Good Life’- OneRepublic  If you have never heard this song, I strongly urge you to have a listen! It reminds me of summer and sun and happy thoughts.

9. Complete the sentence, Happiness is…

Surrounding yourself with things you love, doing what you love and sharing it with the people you love.

10. What do you do to clear your mind?

This past year, I have found yoga to be my go-to activity when I just want to block everything out for 30 minutes and focus on myself. Its incredibly relaxing and it really makes you focus on your own body.

11. Life can be stressful what are your top 3 things to unwind?

  1. Cuddling up on the sofa with my boyfriend and a superhero movie
  2. Being in the countryside with my family and my dogs
  3. Sing my Heart out in the shower ( using the showerhead as a microphone of course!)

12. Have you watched any inspiring movies? Do you have any favorites

I’ll be honest, I’m not really a fan of inspiring movies. I’m more of a superhero/comedy film kinda girl.

13. What is your favorite inspirational quote?

‘I was looking for someone to inspire me and motivate me…someone who would support me and keep me happy, and then I realised that all along I was looking for myself’

14. Do you listen to motivational speakers?

Again, not a fan of inspirational movies or speakers. I much prefer art and quotes.

15. How do you cope with unpleasant people?

I let their rudeness/ignorance pass me by. There’s not point giving someone like that the satisfaction of a reaction. I ignore and move on with my life.

16. What is your best piece of advice?

The advice I would give to anyone who was feeling down and anxious, is to let go of your emotions, find a quiet space, and reflect on everything good in your life at the moment. It could be that someone held a door open for you, that a friend called you or even that you are looking forward to a weekend with your family. Write down 5 positive things, let go of your negativity and smile. Life is good.

17. Complete the sentence “When life gives you lemons…”

Make pink Lemonade with ice and a cherry on top!

18. What is the most inspiring book you have ever read?

I love reading but sadly I have never really read anything inspirational! I may have to look into it!

19. Do you have a place to pray or meditate?

I meditate either sitting on my bed before I go to sleep or first thing in the morning. I also do a hell of a lot of thinking in the shower.

20. What is your motto in life?

‘Be Brave and Follow your Dreams. Chase the Stars’

Quick Fire:

Inspirational Movie or Talk with a friend

Creating Art or Listening to music

Making food or Eating Food

Being alone or Being in a crowd

Writing or Singing

Sea Vacation or Safari Vacation
