‘You know the sound the TARDIS makes? That wheezing, groaning? That sound brings hope wherever it goes.’- The Moment in ‘Day of the Doctor’

It’s true, because for that 40 Minutes on a Saturday Night on BBC One, I’m transported into the magical world of the Doctor and his companion, joining them on adventures and seeing their friendships grow.

It’s incredible to get to know this mysterious Time Lord… all 13 Faces of him:

  • 1- William Hartnell
  • 2- Patrick Troughton
  • 3- John Pertwee
  • 4- Tom Baker
  • 5- Peter Davidson
  • 6- Colin Baker
  • 7- Sylvester McCoy
  • 8- Paul McGann
  • WAR DOCTOR- John Hurt
  • 9- Christopher Eccleston
  • 10- David Tennant
  • 11- Matt Smith
  • 12- Peter Capaldi
(yes, I know them off by heart)

There’s nothing wrong with being a Geek- if anything it’s something to be proud of. Why not be happy about being enthusiastic? I mean, look at all the sports fans out there… they get whole tournaments to obsess over, why can’t we obsess over great TV, Film and Books?

I think it’s great that something can just click in your mind with a particular show, movie or book… and immediately you find yourself referencing it in every day life, dreaming about it and getting really deep into the history of it all. Of course, I will add that I am also a fan of several other series(film and TV):

  • Game of Thrones
  • Supernatural
  • Sherlock
  • Marvel and DC
  • Lord of the Rings
  • Star Trek
  • Star Wars (I’m a newbie to this one)

And there are tons more…

But Doctor Who was the first, and will remain my favourite. I remember the first episode I watched was ‘The End of The World’ (Christopher Eccleston) and I had never seen anything like it before. I must have been 11 years old at the time, and I was hooked. The far off places, adventures and everything else associated with this crazy man was just intriguing and engaging. It made me want to delve into his history, learn who he was and where he’d travelled… it was fascinating really. Unfortunately I have only seen a handful of Classic Who- but it’s on my Bucket List.

Here are 8 things that I love about this show:

1.It’s full of hard-hitting Science

  1. I loved watching Doctor Who when I lived in the UK.Since being back in S.A., I have not really been able too.He is true British character & so funny at times.

  2. I just got into Doctor Who this year, I can’t believe I had missed out all these years! I enjoyed Christopher Eccleston and was sad to see him “change” into David Tennant but he is growing on me. I also love Billy Piper. I have stopped watching somewhere after David becomes the Doctor. I am a bit of a pansy and I can’t watch the episode with the ‘devil’!

    1. Haha I know what you mean, it’s always hard trying to get used to him changing- but I promise David is a great doctor! And the episode with the devil is awesome!

  3. Hahha I have to admit I havent followed doctor who as of late but I am a major fan and this is a brilliant tribute to that. hahha awesome pics and gifs
