12 Days of Blogmas- Day Eleven

11-ways-to-refresh

Hello everyone!

I can’t believe blogmas is almost over! It’s gone so quickly and I have loved writing each and every one of these posts. I went back to work yesterday, as I’m sure a lot of you also did, and by the time I had got home and made tea, I was shattered. I thought to myself

‘how have I ever survived a WHOLE WEEK like this?!’

So, of course today I was trying to think of the best thing to share with you guys, and I came up with this:

11 WAYS TO REFRESH

Because I think it’s SO important to look after yourself, relax in the evenings and be able to wake up fresh and ready for each day as it comes. So here are my top tips for staying refreshed:

1.Drink Water

I know this seems to be the top solution for everything, but trust me. Drinking water helps to detox your body, hydrate your cells and keep your organs running smoothly. Water is the best, so drink up!

2.Cut Back on the Caffeine

A nice hot cup of tea or coffee can be the difference between a great or a terrible morning, but remember that caffeine is a buzz. Avoiding caffeine after 1pm will help your body calm down and will help you relax a lot more in the evenings.

3. Keep a Diary

Every day, write down what you plan on achieving and tasks you need to complete. Don’t worry if you don’t get everything done, you’re only human, and you can only fit so much into a small day. It’s just really useful to have a written note of things you need to do , and also any thoughts that pop into your head throughout the day.

4. Switch off

At the end of the day when you leave work, stop thinking about it. You’re no longer on duty, so why be worried about that meeting tomorrow?

5. Meal Prep

Don’t let yourself have to scurry around the kitchen first thing in the morning looking for a can of soup, instead make your dinner the night before and pop it in the fridge. Even better, make slightly larger portions of your tea and use that!

6. Take a bath (or a steamy shower)

A nice hot soak in the tub, or a shower with your favourite scented shower gel is always what the doctor ordered. Bliss.

7. Pamper yourself

Whether it be having a shave (lads) or using a face mask, little bits of time taken to care for yourself really help you to focus on yourself and your well being.

8. Catch those Sheep

Sleep is essential for feeling good in the morning, and also it just feels so good sometimes to get an early night. Remember that your body needs rest to function properly.

9. Lay out your clothes

It stresses me out to the high heavens when I am in the middle of getting ready and I can’t find my favourite skirt, so do yourself a favour and lay your clothes out the night before. It also means you can get an extra 5 minutes of sleep. Win Win!

10. Rise and Shine!

The early bird catches the worm, and also has a better day for it. Although it may sometimes feel painful to wake up early, it actually does your body a lot of good. So get out of bed, take 10 minutes to breathe and meditate and your day will be tonnes better for it.

11. Breakfast

DON’T SKIP BREAKFAST! Not only will you be snacking halfway through the day, but you’ll also feel sluggish and tired.

That’s it! I hope these tips help you stay relaxed, motivated and ready to take on the world. Do you have any tips that you swear by?

See you tomorrow for the FINAL DAY OF BLOGMAS! *sad face*
