Simple Valentines Glow

fl17

It’s Valentine’s Day tomorrow, and although I know that most of us will be working during the day, that doesn’t mean we can’t go for a meal in the evening, does it?

I think a lot of people have the misconception that on Valentine’s Day you should break out the Bright Pink Glitter and blinding highlighters, and finish that off with a fire engine red lip. Now, I’m not saying that this is a bad thing, if that’s your style then you do you, but for me I feel like natural is the way to go on Valentine’s Day. A soft, glowy face with a little shimmer and finished off with a red lip just to make it pop. Sam always complains when I put makeup on because he prefers me natural, and I think a lot of guys feel the same. So this year why not try to enhance your natural beauty, and let yourself shine through.

I actually already have a step by step tutorial for this look, because it is also what I wore on Christmas, so if you want to check out the full steps, take a look: Christmas Day Makeup Look

I wanted to just talk a bit more about the products I’m using in this post.

The Base

For the base of my makeup I have been loving the combination above, this is slightly different to my Christmas Makeup because I now have a different primer and concealer.

What I’m using:

I apply these products in the following order: primer, colour corrector, foundation, concealer. For the colour correction- I apply the green on any blemishes or redness, and the orange/ red on my dark circles, and it honestly works brilliantly to brighten the eyes.

The Bourjois concealer is rapidly becoming my favourite for the under eye area, because it’s got such a high coverage and doesn’t look cakey at all when you apply it. I then set my entire face with powder to make sure my skin isn’t shiny and the foundation stays put.

The Eyes and Cheeks

For my contouring and eyes, I have been living in the Revolution Golden Sugar 2 Palette. It is just DIVINE.

For my cheeks:

I also use the same highlight for my nose, cupid’s bow, brow bone and inner corner of my eye.

Eyes:

The colours and consistency of this palette are to die for, and I love every single shade. I have written a more in depth review of the palette already, check it out –> Makeup Revolution Golden Sugar 2 Rose Gold Review

The Lips

I mean, it wouldn’t be Valentines without a little bit of red would it? And with such a glowy, simple face, a red lip adds that pop of drama which I think just completes the look. This lipstick is No7 Moisture Drench Lipstick in the colour ‘Hot Paprika’

I am OBSESSED with this Red. It’s the perfect mix between a blue tone and orange tone red.

What is your go-to Valentine’s makeup look?
