Easy Braided Ponytail

IMG_0461IMG_0457Good morning everyone!

It’s finally June, and although the weather is the total opposite of summer here in Manchester right now, I can’t help but want to get into that spirit. I always find that wearing my hair down in the summer can be a huge mistake- because I have thick hair, and in the humidity I usually end up like this…

Which is why I always try and come up with cute, simple updos for this time of the year. Today I want to show you a super easy, pretty and feminine style you can rock this season! Here’s my Easy Braided Ponytail!

  1. Use a comb to section off a rectangle of hair in the centre of your head. Tie the rest of your hair up and out of the way.IMG_0433IMG_0434
  2. Starting at the front of your head- take 3 small sections of hair and dutch braid them twice. This just means that instead of crossing the outside sections across the middle, you cross them underneath.IMG_0435IMG_0436IMG_0438IMG_0439
  3. To begin your French braid, add small pieces of hair into the outside sections and cross them under the middle. Keep repeating this step until you have no more hair to add. Secure with a bobble for the time being.IMG_0440IMG_0441IMG_0443IMG_0445
  4. Untie the remaining hair and start to form your hair into a ponytail. Once you are happy with it- unsecure the braid and tie your hair up into a ponytail. Add in a couple of bobby pins to secure the braid. Done!IMG_0446IMG_0447IMG_0449IMG_0453IMG_0454IMG_0455IMG_0456IMG_0457IMG_0459IMG_0460IMG_0461IMG_0462
