Starbucks Copycat Pumpkin Spice Latte

I created a poll on twitter the other day which went something like this…

As you can see, the public decided and now I am going to share my copycat recipe for the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte!

This recipe is honestly a lot easier than you’d think, and it tastes exactly like the PSL from Starbucks, maybe even a little bit more creamy in my opinion.

Let’s get into it shall we?

Pumpkin Spice Latte

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp pumpkin spices ( a mix of cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger)
  • 1 heaped teaspoon coffee
  • 300ml milk (whole is best)
  • whipped cream
  • extra cinnamon for dusting

First of all, we need to make a simple pumpkin spice syrup for the latte. It is better to make a syrup than just add spices to the latte because they infuse with the sugar and the flavour comes out much stronger. For the syrup, place the water, sugar and spices into a pan. Bring to the boil and then simmer for 5 minutes until the sugar is dissolved completely. Put in a jar and leave to cool.

To assemble your latte, you can pour the milk into a latte glass and add the coffee and 2 tbsp of the syrup. Microwave the mixture for 1 and a half minutes. Stir and place back in the microwave if it is still too cool for your liking. Taste test the coffee and add in more syrup if you want a stronger flavour. Top with whipped cream and cinnamon. Enjoy!
